Barrel Rescue is the classic 1980s arcade climb, on a building site at dusk: run a little cat in a hard hat along the sloping red girders, jump the wooden barrels a grumpy gorilla rolls down, climb the ladders and grab the hammer to smash them, all the way up to the kitten waiting at the top. Four kinds of stage take turns (rolling barrels, conveyor belts, lifts and springs, and pulling the rivets to drop the gorilla), and every round brings a new kind of barrel. How to play
- Play with two hands, like a game pad: on the left half of the screen, drag left or right to run; tap anywhere on the right half to jump the way you are running (standing still, you jump straight up). On a computer, use the arrow keys or WASD and the space bar.
- At a ladder, drag up on the left half to climb (or down to go down). Broken ladders cannot be climbed. Reach the kitten at the top to clear the stage; the bonus counts down, so be quick.
- Jump the barrels: one is 100, two at once 300, three 800, double for a close one, and a combo multiplies it. Jump into a hanging hammer to smash barrels and fires for a few seconds.
- On the 100m stage, walk over all eight rivets to pull them out, and the gorilla falls. Mind the holes they leave, and jump when the gorilla pounds its chest.

- How do I score more?
- Jump two or three barrels at once, let them pass close under your feet for double, keep jumping and smashing to build the combo (up to ×3), smash many things with one hammer, pick up all three of the kitten’s things, and reach the top fast for a big bonus.
- When does the game end?
- The game has 24 levels, opened one after another. Each level gives you three lives; a barrel, a fire, a spring, a long fall or the bonus running out takes one, and losing all three means trying the level again. Win a level for one star, without losing a life for two, and with all three of the kitten's things for three.
- Is Barrel Rescue free?
