Paper Plane Wars remakes the classic vertical plane shooters of the NES on a child’s desk: fly a paper plane over the homework, shoot down crayon squadrons as they dive at you, catch origami to fold into a dart, a glider or a crane, and break the stationery bosses apart piece by piece. Every few stages a challenge stage counts how many you can hit. Free to play online on phone or computer, no download.
How to play
- Hold anywhere on the screen and drag: the plane moves as far as your finger, so your finger never hides it. It fires on its own. On a computer, move the mouse or use the arrow keys or WASD.
- Roll with the round button, a two-finger tap or Space: you cannot be hit while rolling. Roll just before a bullet hits and it is a Nice roll: the bullets fly back and the roll is free.
- Shoot down a whole red squad to drop an origami pickup. Its colour changes: red folds you into a dart, blue a glider, green a crane; the same one again levels it up.
- Collect paper stars to fill the meter and pick one of three cards. Each stage ends with a stationery boss: shoot off its parts to stop their attacks.

- How do I score more?
- Keep the combo going: every kill and every bullet that grazes past you adds to it, and points are multiplied up to ×4. Break all of a boss’s parts before beating it, beat it fast, and finish a stage without losing a heart for big bonuses.
- When does the game end?
- You have three hearts. A bullet or a crash takes one; when all three are gone, the run is over. Leave part-way and you can carry on from the stage you were on.
- Is Paper Plane Wars free?
